Terms of Service

Draft v0.1·Last updated 2026-07-31

1. Service scope

Verela is a synthetic identity verification platform provided by Saintrac. The platform offers policy-driven verification workflows, evidence collection, human review, audit history, and credit intelligence tooling for Caribbean-first institutions. Self-serve signup grants access to a sandbox workspace provisioned for synthetic data only. Processing real identity data requires a separate review and approval that is not available through self-serve signup. The platform is provided as a software service. Saintrac hosts and operates the application, API, and supporting infrastructure. The customer is responsible for configuring its verification policies, managing its team members, and using the platform in accordance with these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Acceptable use

The customer agrees to use Verela only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy. The Acceptable Use Policy is incorporated by reference and forms part of these terms. The customer is responsible for the actions of every team member it invites and for every API key it issues. In particular, the customer acknowledges that the sandbox workspace is for synthetic data only. Submitting real identity, biometric, repayment, or customer data into a sandbox workspace is prohibited. See the Acceptable Use Policy for the full set of permitted and prohibited uses.

3. Customer obligations

  • Credential securityKeep API keys secure, rotate them regularly, and revoke keys that are no longer needed or that may have been exposed.
  • Team managementInvite only authorized team members, assign the least-privilege role appropriate to each member, and remove members who no longer require access.
  • Policy configurationConfigure verification policies, retention periods, and review workflows in accordance with the customer's own legal and regulatory obligations.
  • PaymentPay all invoices when due. The customer is responsible for charges incurred by overage usage on paid plans.
  • Accurate informationProvide accurate organization information at signup and update it when material details change.

4. Plans, pricing, and usage

Verela offers three plans: Sandbox, Growth, and Institution. Plan details, including included verification allowances, seat limits, and overage rates, are published on the pricing page. The included verification allowance resets every month on every plan, including annual subscriptions. Sandbox usage is not billable and stops at the included allowance. Paid plans continue and bill each additional verification at the stated overage rate. The customer may cancel its subscription at any time through the in-product billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The customer's data remains accessible after cancellation; only new billable verification sessions are refused.

5. Limitation of liability

Verela is provided as a synthetic demonstration platform. It is not a production system for real identity data. Saintrac does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond the synthetic verification workflows it is designed to demonstrate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saintrac shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising out of or related to the customer's use of or inability to use the platform. The customer is responsible for its own decisions made using Verela's outputs. Verela provides decision support with reason codes; it does not make autonomous lending or credit decisions.

6. Termination

The customer may cancel its subscription at any time from the billing page. Only the owner role may cancel. Cancellation schedules the subscription to end at the current period end and remains reversible until that date. After the effective date, the customer's records remain fully readable; only new billable verification sessions are refused.Saintrac may suspend or terminate access if the customer breaches these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or if required to comply with legal obligations. Suspension does not delete the customer's data. The customer may request export of its data before termination takes effect.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms are a draft and may change pending qualified legal review. Saintrac will provide notice of material changes through the platform or by email to the organization owner. Continued use of Verela after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing language

These terms are provided in English. French and Haitian Creole translations may be provided for convenience but the English version is the reference text. See the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum for related terms.
